Dos And Don’ts When Cleaning Your 3D Printer

Plenty of things can go wrong with a 3D printer. Using a low-quality filament can burn material and leave residue inside your nozzle, making it difficult to clean. It’s recommended to clean or flush the nozzle of your printing machine at least every 200 to 400 printing hours.

Cleaning your nozzle involves unloading the previous filament and loading the cleaner filament.

Keep the printing machine’s temperature the same as your printing filament by extruding the cleaner filament into thin air (do not print with it first).This is a typical process in which many 3D printers will extrude a set amount of filament as part of the new loading process.

As you continue extruding the newly loaded filament, continue until the residue from the previous filament is no longer visible on the filament strings. Once it is clear, simply unload and reload the printing filament. You may or may not try a cold pull afterward.
