BCN3D Tough PLA (Polylactic Acid) has been engineered for its high impact resistance properties and strength, similar to the properties of ABS with the stiffness of PLA. Tough PLA shows outstanding outcomes in layer adhesion and is the perfect material for manufacturing or tooling aids where a high impact is required. Tough PLA has an excellent surface quality and is an easy to print material.

High Impact and Stiffness – Tough PLA is perfect for high impact parts that require stiffness. Tough PLA is 50% stiffer than ABS, and has the right balance of toughness and stiffness.

Easy to Print – Tough PLA is an easy to print material and prints with a very good surface quality.

Affordable concept design – The process of developing the conceptual design of a product using 3D printing reduces the costs of product development and allows the evaluation of the functionality of the specific part. Tough PLA is a perfect material for these kind of prototypes.

Variety of colours – Colours express different feelings and emotions; if we know how to play with them and use them when appropriate, our designs will be a success.

Recommendations:

Plastics absorb moisture from the air. For long periods of time without printing, it is
recommended to keep the PLA spools in a box or airtight container with desiccant to keep them dry.
PLA emits low levels of gasses and particles when printed. We recommend printing it in a well-ventilated area to ensure a healthy environment.
