Dual Extrusion and Enhanced Nozzles
The Ultimaker 3 Extended is one of the first Ultimaker printer to be dual nozzle. Print parts which are multi coloured and visually striking. Or alternatively, print parts in two different materials, use each material to it’s full potential. Or print water soluble support materials which can be used to build highly complex shapes. The options are limitless.
The print cores have also been improved so that they are easier to swap and replace. As well as this, each core has been improved so that it can operate at a higher temperature (allowing more materials to be used).
Active Bed Leveling
The Ultimaker 3 Extended has been developed to make the maintenance tasks as easy as possible. The material feeding system automatically aligns the correct material to the correct print head and the system will also alert you when the material has ran out.
The Ultimaker 3 Extended will also automatically measure the coordinates of the bed and make changes to ensure that it is level. Never worry about having to calibrate your build platform again!
Improved Print Quality and Print Time

The Ultimaker 3 Extended has been developed to produce better results in a shorter period of time. The Ultimaker 3 Extended has a unique nozzle swapping mechanism which reduces nozzle collision and oozing of material, it has an improved material feeding system and a heated glass plate to allow for printing with more materials.
The build platform is reduced in weight and designed to be stiff, resulting in less vibrations and therefore a better print quality. Ultimaker has analysed every little aspect of the Ultimaker 2+ and worked hard to improve it where possible.
