Tough 1500 Resin

The Bridge between Tough and Durable

Tough 1500 offers the durability, low friction and pliability of Durable Resin however it retains some of the strength and rigidity of Tough 200o Resin. Thus making it ideal for strong components which will require flexibility but also be long lasting.

Resistant to Permanent Deformation

Although Tough 1500 has the ability to be bent or compressed, it is generally a rigid material. It will not permanently deform unless exposed to a very large load.

Elongation and Fatigue Resistance

The Elongation at Break (%) of Tough 1500 is 51, it can withstand extreme elongation before breaking or failing.

Tough 1500 can withstand repeat, cyclic uses under high loads. The material is resistance to ‘kinking’ or having concentrated areas of high strain, this results in an even spread of load and reduces the chance of failure.

High Impact Strength

Due to the strength of the material is is able to absorb large amounts of energy before it fractures, and because of it’s flexibility, Tough 1500 can withstand these high forces even if they are applied at high speeds

Skin Contact Safety

Tough 1500 is safe and ideal for extended skin contact applications such as wearables, PPE and other consumer goods (in accordance with ISO 10993-1), and has passed the requirements for the following endpoints:

  • ISO 10993-5: Not cytotoxic
  • ISO 10993-10: Not an irritant
  • ISO 10993-10: Not a sensitizer

Examples of Use

Tough 1500 is ideal for modelling ‘springy’ components, snap fits, press connectors and other products with similar properties to Polypropylene.
