Formlabs High Temp Resin

 

High Temp Resin offers a heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 238 °C @ 0.45
MPa, the highest among Formlabs resins. Use it to print detailed, precise prototypes with high temperature resistance.

Heat Resistant

High Temp Resin is a material which, if post-cured correctly, can produce components which function at temperatures exceeding 200°C. A low thermal expansion (0-150°C) of 74 (μm/m/°C) and a heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 238 °C @ 0.45
MPa makes the material suitable for products needing heat resistant properties.

Relatively Durable

High Temp Resin has a Tensile Modulus of 2.75 GPa and a Ultimate Tensile Strength of 58.3 MPa which means it has a similar strength to the resins in the standard range. However, High Temp Resin has almost no flex so snap fits and living hinges are not suited for this material.

Precision

High Temp Resin is available in 25, 50 and 100 micron layer heights. Parts can be produced to a high level of detail. However reserve printing with a layer height of 25 microns for  small items, smaller layer heights means more laser exposure to resin tanks, therefore decreasing their lifetime.

Maintenance

When printing in High Temp Resin with a standard resin tank, observe the clarity of the elastic layer and replace the resin tank more often.Avoid storing this material for longer than one month in a standard resin tank or two months in a Resin Tank LT to prevent resin leaks and subsequent damage.

Post Process

With High Temp Resin you post-cure the print by washing the print and UV curing it. If you want to further improve it’s mechanical and thermal properties, place the print in a lab oven at a temperature of 160°C for an additional 180 minutes (doing this will produce an amber finish on your print)
